Change

...I got a little change in my pocket going jingle, lingle, ling.

Just kidding...I'm not talking about that kind of change!

This week is chock-full of awesome changes! First and foremost, the blog has been completely re-vamped! Doesn't it look amazing? Now...you'll be able to access all of the information that you are looking for in a few easy locations.

Just don't go snooping around too much...the new format was just uploaded yesterday evening and I haven't gotten around to setting everything up yet. lol.

On a completely different topic, another awesome change that is happening this week is the fact that Justin is re-painting a few rooms in our house! Pics will def follow once everything is painted and put back together.

Now...on to the drum roll............................................................... (and no...I'm not going to say that I'm pregnant or anything life altering like that)

I checked in at the FF today and was pleasantly surprised when grumpy gus behind the counter told me that I lost 2.2 pounds this week! In total, I've lost 27.4 pounds - bringing my new weight down to 140.4 pounds.

I can't believe that I carried around that extra weight for so long. I truly feel like my inside matches my outside now. I mean...I've always been hot - in my head. lol.

The day after MILF Monday

What do you call the day AFTER MILF Monday? Yeah...I got nothing.

I'm just going to be honest. I was not in the mood to write yesterday. Actually, yesterday was an incredibly "blah" day.

I did manage to psych myself up around lunch time though and hit the gym. I logged 2.22 mi in 25 minutes yesterday. I'm pretty sure that's a new world record for me...or something.

The race is in 11 days and I am determined to run the whole thing. It won't be pretty, but it will happen. Hell...if I don't pass out in the end, it will be a sheer win in my book!

Anyway. Back to my run.

I managed to run (I use that term loosely) for a full 25 minutes. I'm also not going to lie...I thought that I was dying. I'm pretty sure that I will never fully understand why people are so in love with this sport. It's going to be the death of me!

While it may not be my favorite form of activity (actually...I HATE it!), I have noticed a few things:
  • My form is definintely improving
  • ...and so is my endurance
  • I have crazy cute gear
  • I look good in my crazy cute gear
  • Move Bitch! totally gets me going
  • I have muscles that I never knew exhisted
  • I sweat like a man
HOT....right?

Speaking of hot...check this out!

I know...I know. The outfit isn't spectacular and I haven't lost any weight the week. However, yesterday was the first time in God knows how long that I was able to actually wear that shirt! Up until yesterday, it hadn't buttoned in a while and the cap sleeves were really tight. Like...push your arm fat up around your sleeve tight.

This MILF would call that a victory!!

Until next time!

What's on your playlist?

Has this week been a little nutty for you too? Oy! A day off during the middle of the work week is fabulous, but it makes returning to work on Thursday a friggin' nightmare!

Speaking of a day off...the fat farm was closed on Wednesday. Don't worry though, I received 22 emails stating that they were open the rest of the week and that I could check-in at a time convenient my schedule. Um...the day most convenient for my schedule is on Wednesday - my weigh-in day.

Apparently, they don't follow my calendar. Bummer.

Anyway, I checked-in at the farm on Monday. Super glad that I did because I lost 3.2 pounds! Can't imagine how much I would have lost if I would have waited the extra two days to check-in. lol. So my total loss thus far is 26.6 pounds.

Not sure what I did differently this week. Maybe I ate a little healthier, drank more water or got in an extra run. Whatever it was, it totally paid off on the scale.

Speaking of running...Color me Rad is in 16 days. I'm starting to freak out a bit. Actually...my freaking out began two weeks ago when I decided that I had to have a new pair of running shoes for the race. Then I needed to update my playlist. I mean seriously...those two items are incredibly important for a good run.

Unfortunately, both of my important items lead to sheer disaster. While running and listening to my awesome playlist (courtesy of my fabulous husband), I completely bit it on the track at the Y. What's even more embarrassing is the fact that there were about 15 guys playing on the basketball court below me when I went down. Can you believe that not ONE of them asked if I was okay? Assholes. So much for the Y trying to build courteous and caring members of society.

With that being said, I crawled off the track and rested for a bit. Then I got back up and finished my run - on the treadmill this time. My pride was too embarrassed to continue on the track. lol.

And don't worry...I took pics of the whole thing. Here they are:

It all started with a new pair of Nike Free 4.0 running shoes

                                                                          Knee injury

This is what it looks like today

Needless to say, it still effing hurts and it's been a week since my knee met the track. I also had to get a new playlist. Can't keep running to stuff that makes me fall.

Here's my new list (just in case you need something new to download off iTunes):

Lori Running 2
  • Been Caught Stealing - Jane's Addiction
  • Big and Chunky - will.i.am
  • Bodhisattva Vow - Beastie Boys
  • Breathe - Fabulous

  • Fall to Pieces - Velvet Revolver
  • Girls, Girls, Girls - Motley Crue

And on that note, I'm outta here!

MILF Monday!

I'm just going to let it be known that I am completely unoriginal this week. That's right folks...my MILF Monday pic is of me in the EXACT same dress that I wore last week for my post. lol.

In my defense, the pic that I posted last Monday was from a few weeks prior - like, at least three or four. While I'm wearing the same dress, belt and shoes, the occasion was totally different - Justin and I had a three-day date! I know...who are we?!

We shipped the babes off to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the weekend so that we could spend a little bit of time re-connecting. So on Saturday, we got all dolled-up. We went out for sushi, listened to a few live bands at the City Folk Festival at Riverscape in Downtown Dayton, and ended up drinking a few beers (Michelob Ultra don't ya know...gotta stay on track) at Little York Tavern.

So here are a few pics from our night out:

This is my before we went out shot. lol. The dress looks totally different without the jacket - too hot for that! I will say that it totally shows off my running legs and some ah-mazing collar bones that I never knew exhisted!!

Here's us being adorable on date night! This was taken outide of 5/3 Field - Home of the Dayton Dragons!

Not sure if you can really see it, but there is a giant tower in the distance of this photo. There are actually five giant towers that shoot off water at seven minutes til the hour. We strolled along the river and picked a spot out to watch the water. It was turned off for the day due to the festival. Such is our luck. lol

So...until next Monday...this MILF is outta here!

MILF Mondays!

I've decided to start a new section for my blog called MILF Mondays! I mean seriously...that's freaking hilarious!

Not only is it hilarious, but I get so burnt out on writing about how shitty I'm doing at my weekly FF Anonymous (Fat Farm Anonymous...in case you were wondering) check-ins that I had to create something fun. Well...this is it!

I don't post a lot of pictures of myself - I'm a little self-conscious. I know...my insides are screaming SHOCKER too.

Anyway. I've decided that I'm going to take a pic every Monday and have it serve as my progression timeline picture. That way...I can totally keep you up to date on my progress AND my haute wardrobe.

So...without further adieu, here's my first MILF Monday pic:

Let me start out by stating this disclaimer: I did not wear this to work today, but rather recently when I went out to dinner with my girlfriend Betsy.

Okay...now that that bit of confusion has been cleared up...let's talk about my outfit!

I picked up this adorable turquoise strapless sundress at my favorite resale boutique - Kelly Lane. Not only did I pick up my dress there, but I also got that adorable jean jacket there too! Here's the best part - as if there could be anything better than looking adorable! I didn't break the bank! My entire outfit cost less than $40 (minus the shoes and belt - I already had those in my closet)! Can you believe it?!

I finished the look with a chunky black belt and a pair of hot pink wedges. Love how the pink pops!

So...there you have it folks! A bright spot in your rather mundane start to the work week.

Happy MILF Monday!

Surviving this Roller Coaster

At what point can I say that I want off this freaking roller coaster?

I've noticed that the closer I get to my goal, the harder it is for me to lose weight - even though I do everything right. Last week I lost 0.2 pounds for the second week in a row. While I was mifted last week that my loss was only minimal, I've taken a complete nose dive this week and gained 4 pounds! How does that even happen?!

I mean, for the love of God...I WANT to be a LOSER!!!!

It's so weird to me how my body is responding to my "getting healthy" initiatives. I didn't change the way that I ate (I still portioned everything out), I didn't change what I ate (yes Pinky...we eat the same thing every week), and I still had 22 banked points and 11 activity points that I could eat; yet I gained enough weight to make me feel uncomfortable.

I mean...every roller coaster has a warning sign: don't ride if you are prego, don't ride if you are intoxicated, don't smoke while riding, don't stand up, blah...blah...blah. Where was the warning sign for this emotional BEAST? And yes...that was a total reference to my FAVORITE roller coaster of all time!

Warning sign for weight loss

I guess i'm just going to have to buckle down even harder with my food intake and activity level. Which speaking of activity, I had to push out my 5K training due to shin splints! UGH!!

I'm trying to hop back on the wagon this evening. Keep your fingers crossed that I can complete my run without having to army crawl back up the mountain in my subdivision. Even little bunnies cried watching me do that last week. Brutal!

So...let's put our hands up together and ride this BEAST!

I'm pissed. Let's go buy some shit.

Yup. That's what I bought.

When I said that I was pissed and wanted to go buy some shit, I wasn't referring to items that would actually make me shit. Although from the Instagram picture above, it would appear that that was my sole intention. I mean, really? Fiber One bars AND bananas? Oy...it's going to be a rough night.

Due to the fact that I'm a tad bit salty right now, I'm not going to bore you with the details of today's weigh-in.  I lost 0.2 pounds. Hence the reason why I'm pissed and apparently taking natural remedies to rid myself of any extra weight that I may possibly be storing.

I know...I know. Gross.

So now that we have that shit out of the way (yes my friends...total pun intended), let's move on.

I tried out two new recipes for Memorial Day - Macaroni Salad and Mini-Brownie Cupcakes. So...because they were yummy in my tummy, I'd be willing to be that they would be yummy in your tummy too! And not break the points bank - just in case you are tracking those pesky things.

So...without further adieu, here are those recipes for your next mouthwatering side dish and tastebud tantalizing dessert.

Macaroni Salad
Points Plus Value: 3
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Serves: 12

Ingredients:
  • 4 1/2 cup(s) cooked macaroni, kept warm
  • 3/4 cup(s) fat-free mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup(s) fat-free sour cream
  • 3 Tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 medium sweet red pepper, diced
  • 1 medium green pepper, diced
  • 1 medium uncooked carrot, diced
  • 1/4 cup(s) red onion, minced
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
Instructions:

While macaroni is still warm, place in a large bowl. Add mayonnaise, sour cream and relish; toss to coat. Add peppers, carrot and onion; toss to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve warm or chilled. Yields about 1/2 cup per serving.

Deliciousness in a bowl.

Mini Brownie Cupcakes
Points Plus Value: 2
Prep Time: 7 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 36

Ingredients:
  • 21 oz regular brownie dry mix
  • 1/2 cup(s) water
  • 1/2 cup(s) unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line 36 mini muffin tin holes with mini cupcake wrappers.

In a large mixing bowl, combine brownie mix, water, applesauce and egg whites. Mix 50 times with a wooden spoon (use 50 strokes); do not under or over mix. Pour brownie mixture into prepared muffin tins, about 1 tablespoon per hole.

Bake cupcakes until a tester inserted in center of a cupcake comes out clean, about 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely; remove cupcakes from pan. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar. Yields 1 cupcake per serving.

And there you have it folks. A party for your mouth.
